Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime smartphone was launched in November 2016. The phone comes with a 4.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 pixels by 800 pixels at a PPI of 233 pixels per inch.

The Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC9830 processor and it comes with 1GB of RAM. The phone packs 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime packs a 5-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 0.3-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime Details
The J1 Mini Prime is an entry-level smartphone that is the higher version of the Galaxy J1 Nxt with its Android 6.0 OS while the Nxt features a Lollipop 5.1 OS. The J1 Mini Prime comes in 1.2GHz/3G and 1.5GHz/4G versions. This version comes with a 1.2Ghz CPU/3G support.

Display and Design
The J1 Mini Prime is fronted by a simple 4.0-inch TFT display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a pixel density of 231 PPI that won t do much for viewing media but should suffice for mobile tasks such as texting or making phone calls. The phone is compact with its display and come with a textured back for grip. The device itself measures 121.5 x 63 x 10.7 mm and is available in gold, rose gold and black exteriors.

Platform and Memory
The device runs Marshmallow 6.0 OS on a Spreadtrum SC9830 chipset that has a quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor and 1GB of RAM that handles basic mobile tasks fairly easily. Multitasking or running complex tasks might slow the phone down. The chipset also has a Mali-400MP2 GPU for games, graphics, and HQ videos. Internal storage on the phone is limited to 8GB but can be expanded to 256GB with an SD card that fits into the second SIM card slot i.e., no dedicated slot for memory expansion.

Cameras and Battery
The rear camera is 5-megapixels that takes only the simplest images with an f/2.2 aperture, but is aided by LED flash for low-light conditions. The rear camera is also capable of recording HD recording at 30fps. The front camera is 0.3-megapixels or VGA which isn t the best for mobile phone photography. The device is powered by a 1,500mAh Li-ion battery that lasts for less than 12 hours.

Connectivity and other features
The phone accommodates dual micro-SIM cards that support 3G. The phone also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS aided by A-GPS and GLONASS for navigation, Bluetooth 4.0, and features a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfers.
